Designer: Vico Magistretti

 

The lamp Eclisse was born from the creativity of designer Vico Magistretti in 1965 for the brand Made in Italy Artemide. Having won the Italian Compasso d'Oro award in 1967, she became a representative of Italian design worldwide. The concept behind the design of this lamp is the balance between form and function. This concept was put into practice through the internal rotating lampshade, which "eclipsed"; the light source. Thanks to this inner shell, you can choose the intensity of the light, and then decide between direct or diffused light.

 

The Ecisse lamp is essentially a table lamp, but it can also be easily mounted on the wall.

Eclisse is also an integral part of the permanent collection of some of the most important design museums, and not only Italian; among these we find the MoMa in New York and, of course, also the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
