The Maxim sculpture-table project, conceived by designers Pio and Tito Toso, stems from an inseparable link between geometric purity and experimentation with materials. Just like a work of art that comes to life in the hands of a master craftsman, this exceptional designer table evokes the high standard of craftsmanship and the dedication required to shape the material and transform it into an iconic piece of furniture.
In keeping with the latest trends in conscious living, Maxim elegantly meets the demand for eco-sustainable furniture. The structure is, in fact, the result of refined handcrafting and a cold-moulding technique that avoids the use of energy-intensive processes. Industrial technology is used solely to support the delicate artisanal stages of pouring liquid concrete and finishing, carried out strictly by hand to ensure a unique and one-of-a-kind piece.
Although the collection is built upon a sculptural concrete base with organic, three-petal shapes, the design’s architecture fits within the brand’s tradition as a solid and striking fixed table with a clay base. The base is in fact available both in trowelled clay in warm, natural shades and in the exclusive Oxy finishes, characterised by a luxurious hand-brushed paint finish applied by master craftsmen.
The Maxim Argile table is a piece characterised entirely by its materiality, with both the top and the base finished entirely by hand using a trowel. This stylistic choice gives the piece a primal, compact and deeply organic appearance.
