The brilliant minds of these important designers have given life to the most iconic elements on the design lighting scene. Flos has thus become the emblem of international lighting design.
Founded in 1962 as a small laboratory in Merano, it began its rise by experimenting with new materials and new stylistic researches such as the innovative plastic material called "cocoon". Flos lamps and chandeliers have completely changed the concept of design, furniture and lighting. We no longer speak of a mere housing need, but the doors are opened to aesthetics and visual impact.
Among the most iconic lamps we find the Parentesi lamp by Castiglioni and Pio Manzù, the Gun lamp by Philippe Starck, the Lampadina lamp by Achille Castiglioni, the Arco lamp by the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Arco is one of the most famous lamps in the sphere of design lighting, so much so that, almost sixty years after its design, it was awarded the Product Career Award, established since the last edition of the Compasso d'Oro.

The XXVI edition of the Compasso D’Oro represents a double victory for Flos. The winner is also the designer Micheal Anastassiades with his innovative Arrangements lamp, created for Flos in 2018. Arrangements is an innovative lighting system composed of several elements, whose geometric shapes can be connected and placed side by side in order to create unique, poetic light compositions and brilliant.
